Dr. Sandip H. Bhokare is an Assistant Professor in Animation & VFX with over 16 years of experience in both academia and the industry. He is currently teaching at Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Design since August 2023. His professional goal is to enhance animation education by bridging industry practices with academic excellence, fostering creativity and research-driven environments for students.
Dr. Bhokare holds a Ph.D. in Animation (2020-2024) from Kanpur University, and has an MSc in Animation, a BSc in Animation, and an advanced diploma in 3D Film Animation & VFX. His expertise includes software such as Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Mud box, and Adobe Premiere Pro, specializing in 3D character modelling, animation techniques, gaming technology, digital editing, and motion graphics.
He has contributed extensively to the field through research papers and textbooks, with several publications expected in 2024, including works on Autodesk Maya and motion capture in animation. He also serves on the Board of Studies for Savitribai Phule Pune University and Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Science and plays an active role in syllabus development and external examining.
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Bhokare is a freelance 3D modeler and writer for Prati Lipi Marathi. His personal interests include drawing, writing, reading, and music.
