People all over the world are attracted by good interior ambience of the places where they associate often. The interior ambience is a complex terminology comprises of designing the interior with appreciable ergonomics, user friendliness, space effectiveness, ease to maintain, pleasant and appealing, longevity, durability, ease to shift, worth for money etc., By keeping all these points in mind DPU SOD has introduced a novel B. Des. programme to create Interior Design Specialists. B. Des. (Interior Design Styling and Practices – InDe) has been designed as a perfect blend to produce Interior Design Professionals as well as Interior Design Entrepreneurs with core objectives such as conceptual development, residential and commercial space planning and management, procurement and management of material and execution, space science, construction and ergonomics.
InDe is one of the flagship design programmes with abundant placement opportunities in the interior design and décor domain of construction field. The aspirants of InDe programme are provided the opportunity to learn a wide range of foundation subjects such as Design Basics, Drawing and Illustration, Design Process, Design Thinking, Story Telling, Communication and Presentation Skills and subjects pertaining to Interior Architecture such as Interior History, Colour and Textures in Interior, Technical Drawings, Materials, Interior Construction, Interior Design Studio, Sustainable Interiors, Interior Photography, Furniture Design, Space Planning, Computer Aided Interior Design and Manufacture, AI in Interior, UI UX in Interior, Interior Budgeting, Brand Promotion, Marketing, Export and Import of Interior products, Visual Merchandising etc.
The curriculum encourages the first-hand learning of software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Autodesk AutoCAD, Trimble Sketch Up, VRay, Lumion, Blender Autodesk Revit etc., The curriculum ensures the holistic preparation of customized InDe professionals possess unique skills satisfying the needs of mindboggling interior industry. The vibrant faculty team of InDe programme is a perfect blend of dedicated full-time academicians, adjunct and visiting faculties from the industry. The full-time regular faculty team will manage the day to day curricular and co-curricular obligations of the students. The adjunct and visiting faculties of their own repute will provide value addition to the programme by sharing their industrial acumen and amalgamate the students with industry.
The Classrooms / Studios have been designed with excellent ambience in terms of space, illumination, ventilation, interior, latest teaching – learning tools etc., to kindle the learning interest. The state-of-the-art CAD Studio, Lighting Studio, Furniture/ Wood working Studio, Model Making Studio, Students’ Creative Display Centre etc., are well equipped with latest tools and equipment with trained technicians to impart hands-on training to the students.
With the support of the Trio known as Curriculum, Faculty and Studios the students would gain adequate practical knowledge in gradual phase and will become perfectly fit for their profession while reaching the zenith of their graduation.
