Makarand Bapat comes with an experience of 25 years, a seasoned design professional specializing in Interior and Landscape Design. After completing his diploma in Interior Design in 1999, he gained experience working with well-known architectural firms in Pune and Kolhapur. In 2004, he established his own design practice, "Design Studio," focusing on residential and commercial design projects.
His passion for knowledge sharing led him to become a visiting faculty member at several institutions in Pune and Kolhapur. In 2014, he joined Marathwada Mitra Mandal's School of Interior Design, Pune as a core faculty member. His commitment to education prompted him to further enhance his knowledge and skills by pursuing a Bachelor of Design and a Master's in Interior Design.
As a design professional and educational researcher, he believes that "children and youth are key role players in our stable society formation." He pursued studies in child and adolescent psychology to address and solve issues through design interventions.
He is quite passionate about practising and honing skills in Sustainable Design, Biophilic Design for Mental & Physical Wellbeing, Sensory Design for Built Environments and Design for Inclusion and Accessibility. Makarand Bapat is dedicated to creating designs that promote mental and physical well-being. He focuses on sustainable, biophilic, and inclusive design principles to improve the built environment. His work aims to enhance accessibility and create spaces that positively impact people's lives.
